A romantic comedy set in Canada! JASSSS. Thanks for writing this! After all, a book is set somewhere in Canada, not Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, and it’s a small town. Canada is full of amazing small towns, especially on our shores, and they make the perfect setting for a romance novel. The various characters in Queen’s Cove were amazing, as utterly weird and friendly as they are in real life and I’m desperate to hear Hannah’s story and everyone else coming from Queen’s Cove.
I loved that both MCs had big ambitions and strong personalities and didn’t slow down to be together. Each side had a new twist and turn and the number of hits that landed on each other was next level. THE TURTLES!!!! You were the gift that was given over and over again, you should only read this for the turtle story, it was hilarious.
I laughed and cried reading this and there was flavor! It’s hard to find a rom-com that really makes you laugh, and this one packs that plus loads of emotion. Stephanie Archer is officially on my auto buy list, and not just because she’s Canadian (although that makes her a lot cooler), but because I know I’ll be happier finishing her books.
I don’t want to spoil anything because everyone should read this, a new favorite for feel-good rom-coms with fake dates and a mayoral candidacy. What could go wrong?
In 2021, I needed a fun, well-written, and substantial fictional journey, and this book delivered. Set in a picturesque setting in the Pacific Northwest, I quickly found myself drawn into the hilarious plot and immediate development of a variety of charming, relatable, and poignant characters. The story unfolded at a page-turning pace and elicited visceral emotion throughout; Audible giggles, jaw-dropping wonder, and the most delicious second-hand blush in the hands of an up-and-coming talent in the genre.
The book effectively takes you into a dream setting and builds the various characters in such a way that you can look forward to a series that is sure to appeal to many fans. I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s next in Queen’s Cove!
That was a beautiful story. I enjoyed the banter between the two characters, laughed at the turtles with them, and loved the friendship between Hannah and Avery.
The mayor was sleazy along with this bad guy.
But the whole city supported their own when it came down to it.
I’m a fan of the fake relationships genre and this one was heartwarming and funny.
