When I started the ending of Dom and Luca’s story, I couldn’t put it down: I loved the chemistry between them.

After the cliffhanger at the end of Forbidden Mafia Prince, I couldn’t wait to see how Dom and Luca would reconnect. Things get chaotic and a little scary, forcing you to leave the country to one of the most beautiful places: Lake Como. Outside of New York, they have the opportunity to meet on equal terms, where Dom is not. a fearsome mafia prince and Luca is not the forgotten heir to a rival family.

Despite the ups and downs they go through in this story, they grow closer in unexpected ways: they realize who they really are when they’re not confined to the attic prison. They are not afraid to express themselves, warm up and see how things are going in their relationship despite the rivalry of their families.

Dom is as stoic and controlling as ever, but he opens up to Luca in ways he never expected. And Luca’s smart mouth and lack of a filter come to the fore, making Dom fall in love with him even more. I wish there was a little more development in their relationship before the book becomes the epilogue, but seeing these two so in love and making it work was really sweet.

I really liked the character of Chef and wanted to see more of him with Dom and Luca; It seemed like we didn’t get a satisfying ending to the story from him. As always, I wanted more of this story, not only because I really liked Dom and Luca together, but also because I feel like things are closing fast and I wanted more development for everyone around me.

It’s sad that this duo is ending, but I can’t wait to see what Ella and Brooke come up with next.

Book 1 is a must read first. I read them back to back and I’m glad I did. I am not patient for a conclusion.

Dom has returned with his father, but without his chess piece, Luka. He was supposed to bring it here when the Fiore family grew closer to the Rossettis. Backstory… In the first book, Dom kidnapped Luca after learning that he was the last heir to the Fiore family. The Fiores placed him in Connecticut with an adoptive family. He was a medical student and had no idea who he really was. When Dom tried to take him from his shelter to the family compound, where they had all gathered for more shelter, the Fiore overpowered him and kidnapped him. This is not okay with Dom for many reasons. The most important thing… Luka was his.

Luka listens to what the kidnappers say about him. He wants nothing more than for Dom to come and save him…but how can that make sense? Dom also kidnapped him and daily threatened to kill him. But things have changed between the two.

As he stands in front of his father, he begins to understand what went wrong. Few knew they were on their way. Someone was in the room when he called his father, so Dom dealt with those slack lips. For now, he must be trusted by everyone else. However, Dom is not happy with his father’s decision. He wants to write off Luka and start a new plan, but Dom doesn’t like that. So he decides to go against his father’s wishes and runs away and devises a plan to save Luka.

Looking out the window of his cell, Luka is surprised to see that Dom is there for him. He knows where he is from by listening to the conversations around him, but he also knows that he is not safe within his own blood family. So he leaves with Dom.

What will life be like for Dom and Luka on the run? Will Luka find out why the Rosettis wanted him in the first place? How will this affect you? Will Dom retreat to his past and ease one of his worst days? Will Luka be able to free Dom from his past?

This is a story about family “debts” and love for those you love… I mean, need. These two really were made for each other.

I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by any of these authors, but I’ll add it to my tbr list.
