If you haven’t read, listened to or seen this book yet, may I suggest you run to where you buy books and buy this AWESOME book! I loved! I couldn’t get enough!! Braden was delicious and absolutely the type of man I adore! I loved it!
Joss was full of emotional baggage. She was strong and sometimes brash, but most of it was the wall he’d built, everything he’d been through. These two were great together and Braden… hmmm… he’s a doll… There was great sex in this book and he was really well done and not over the top.
I love my men hot, hot, selfish and um… well between the sheets! So falling in love with this book was very easy. Braden is driven by his career. He is brassy at times, but he shows emotion and has a gentle side. He loves the ladies, of course he has to be seen with candy in his arms, but when he meets Jocelyn everything seems to change for him.
We start this story with a heartbreaking beginning, Joss receives terrible news while he is at school and everything in his life changes, he has marked her for life. Fast Forward A few years later, Joss has decided to leave everything he’s known behind and start a new life by going to college in Dublin. Her past always seems to haunt her and he seems to drag her into the friendships and relationships department.
Her motto is: “Never get close enough to have feelings for anyone.” He seems to think that a dark cloud is hanging over her. After living in Dublin for a few years, her roommate, one of the few people she is friends with, decides to move and leave the country. Joss is now looking for a new roommate. When she sees a big ad in the paper, she is standing on the doorstep of Dublin Street. She meets what appears to be a great friendly girl; ellie They seem to hit it off and Joss falls in love with the apartment.
When Joss moves in and settles down, Mr. Braden Carmichael literally walks in. He finds her in a somewhat…very compromising position and has very hard time taking his eyes off her!
You can feel the heat between these two and coincidentally this is the same guy she shared a taxi ride with that same week! The same guy who shook her bones and left her speechless. He’s also her roommate, Ellie’s brother —>;) Phew, thank God he wasn’t Ellie’s boyfriend!
Ellie is an amazing person and friend to Joss as they grow closer and Joss becomes more involved with her family. You can see the great friendship that blossoms between these two. Although Joss always seems to back down, Ellie always seems ready to pull him in. She loved Ellie because she was a great person and friend to Joss.
Braden and Joss have a great bantor, they always seem to bounce off each other. She denies her feelings for Braden, and Braden always seems strong when she goes out of her way to get her to go out with him. Braden is a jealous male, think caveman, she’s mine, don’t even think to look at her type, but that’s only because she has very strong feelings for Joss.
He’s a businessman, so he makes Joss a business proposition, basically an exclusive friendship offer with benefits, and he ever takes that part of the benefit! 😉
I loved meeting them, especially at the club/bar where I worked. He was outraged with lust for Joss after seeing her in another man’s arms and sharing a kiss. It blew up in more ways than one… locking them both in the club office and having to take them straight to the desk… yes, on fire…
But Braden is not an idiot, you can see that he has a crush on Joss. But Joss, who always seems to keep everyone at bay, does the same with Braden. She keeps pushing him away even though he is enjoying the cozy nights between the sheets.
A major crisis develops, putting a lot of pressure on their relationship. Will they be able to survive? Will Joss stop pushing everyone away and finally open her heart to love again, not only to the love of a man, but also to friendship and to herself? Will she put the past behind her before everyone leaves and turns their back on her forever? You have to read it to see it! The last half of this book sent me into an emotional maelstrom, I cried. He was crazy. I was sad. I was satisfied.
