Lover Enshrined was one of the books in this series that I didn’t really want to read. I liked Phury, but I wasn’t sure what her story would add to the story or how strong she could be as a main character. So I was pleasantly and honestly surprised when I really started to enjoy his story.

Phury is Zsadist’s twin, and if he thought Zsadist was having a hard time, then so was Phury. The problem with Phury is that he is an addict. His downward spiraling life has gotten out of control and he’s really starting to lose himself since he became the primitive. It only gets worse when the chosen one, Cormia, is chosen as his first mate. Phury wants more for her than a life he never wanted, so he pushes her further.

I loved the story of Cormia and Phury. There was real fear and excitement floating around and the tension between them was intense. They made a great couple who could reflect each other’s personalities, and that’s what I wanted for Phury. Even if he feels like he’s done, it’s really just the beginning. The connection between Phury and Zsadist is also amazing, even though these brothers can’t open up the way they’d like to either, we really see them trying and it’s amazing to read.

There were many other things in this book as well; John, for example, is a big part of these stories, as I’ve said before. I love seeing him with Blay and Qhiunn and I’m even more excited to hear his own story. It’s safe to say that this series gets more exciting with each book.

I liked Phury’s story, I’ll tell you right away. I wasn’t expecting that as I thought Ward’s story would unravel like some great shows do. I liked the Vischous story when this one came out, though I thought the previous one was better, but then again, V isn’t my favorite character (that honor belongs to Wrath, Rhage or Zsadist, :)). Phury, like V, wasn’t a favorite character initially because he was so hard on Bella and well, I felt sorry for Zsadist like Phury was poaching on his turf…that’s another topic lol.

Well, Phury is so confused. I don’t think you’ll know until you read his story. It’s hard to feel much sympathy for a self-inflicted addict past a certain point, but Phury is definitely pushing the buttons. I really liked Cormia because she was so different from Phury and the other heroines we’ve seen.

Right, it got a little annoying when she kept referring to him as “the primitive”, as if she didn’t see him as a person, just as a position. However, I can see that once they both accepted her love, she allowed herself to call him by his name. But she is so traditional and so calm, while other heroines were very aggressive and moody, which is also good.
