Family Of Liars Book Pdf Download

In this prequel to We Were Liars, we visit the island off the coast of Massachusetts in the 1980s with the Sinclair family. Carrie is the oldest daughter, her younger sister, Rosemary, drowned the previous summer. The family returned this year without recognizing the missing relative. Then a ship full of boys arrives on the island with much drama for the Sinclair girls. The sisters must navigate their new lives with betrayals and mistakes along the way.

This prequel starts with spoilers for We Were Liars, so don’t read it first. Carrie told the story as her adult self remembering that special summer that changed her life. It was similar to We Were Liars in that it was the same family on the same island, but it was also very different.

This story was much darker than We Were Liars. There were serious problems like drug and alcohol abuse, drowning, murder, cheating, and homophobia. Some of those scenes were genuinely awkward, but they also honestly showed the flaws in this upper-class family that led to the events of We Were Liars.

Family of Liars was really a great prequel to We Were Liars.

Wealth can buy a private island, privilege can buy an opportunity, but neither is it necessary to weave webs of lies that ensnare everyone in a family and change the course of their lives. And so any reader may wonder, “What if it was me?” as they finally reunite with the Sinclairs and the Beechwood Island in the Family of Liars.

In this prequel to the We Were Liars, E. Lockhart proves to be an expert at weaving the interplay of relationships and secrets, creating characters you alternately want to yell at or hug, or sometimes both. This was a fun and quick read that was a perfect escape from reality.

I loved this coming of age/family drama from YA. I didn’t know it was YA when I picked it up, I wasn’t sure I’d like it, but I found it relatable.

ABSTRACT
This is the prequel to We Were Liars that I haven’t read yet but will start tonight. The book begins with Carrie being visited by the ghost of her recently deceased teenage son. He asks her to tell him the worst thing she has ever done to her. She goes on to tell him the story of the summer that changed her life.

Carrie, her sisters, parents, cousins and uncles always spent their summers on her private island off Cape Cod. This summer, her 17th summer, was different. They had lost her little sister the previous summer and they were all still grieving, but in silence. But on the plus side, all the kids on the island were teenagers, so there was teen drama and teen adventure. And her cousin brought children…

What started out as a promising summer ended in a life-changing event that both bonded the sisters for life and drove a huge wedge between them.

WHAT I LOVED
The story was great, the characters were unforgettable, and the setting was the setting of my dreams. I am annoyed by stories that focus so much on details that the plot is lost, this was the perfect combination of details and plot. I love all

WHAT I DON’T LOVE
I liked everything about this novel. As an adult who reads YA, sometimes I couldn’t help but judge parents. Much of what happened to the children was caused by a lack of supervision.

TOTAL
This is a very well written novel. I would highly recommend it for all ages (probably not suitable for children under 14 or 15). I’ll start on the other book in the series as soon as I finish this review.
